HARWICH—EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Harwich will welcome local guitarist Julie Charland on Wednesday, June 19 at 2:30 p.m. Audiences enjoy Charland’s rendition of folk songs from the 18th through 21st century. Did you know that Cape Cod has some of the highest breast cancer rates in the country? Did you know that they are ways to PREVENT breast cancer? Join the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition's annual statewide fundraiser on June 22nd in Hopkinton or August 17th in Brewster. It's called Against the Tide. You can swim, run, walk, kayak or do it all - for the fun of it - and to raise funds towards breast cancer PREVENTION. YOU can make a difference! The WES PTA is holding it's 4th annual WES Fest! This Saturday June 22, 2013 from 10am to 3pm.

With mechanical rides provided by North American Amusements their tubs of fun, Rapid 70' slide and pirate ship, just to name a few, are sure to give your kids a mini carnival experience with a small town feel! Add in mini carnival games like ring toss, clown toss, putting green, milk bottle toss, and balls in the basket, the craft fair and food there is a little something for everyone! Come join for a day of fun and support a great cause at the same time! Located at the Town of Wellfleet’s Bakers Field by the pier and town playground.


Artisans Fair

The Audible Local Ledger is hosting an Artisans Fair at Deer Crossing in Mashpee on Saturday, June 22nd from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This juried show will feature the fine works of 15 artists and craftspeople.

The Third Annual "Paws for Celebration"

The Third Annual "Paws for Celebration" will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 11 AM – 3 PM. The annual event includes a pledge walk through downtown Orleans and pet-related activities, entertainment and vendors on the front lawn of Nauset Regional Middle School. The event is presented by Nauset Pet Services in Eastham.

Support the Cape Cod branch of The Animal Rescue League by forming walk teams, recruiting walkers and collecting pledges from friends and family.

It's $20 to register online and you'll receive a free event T-shirt and an awesome swag bag! It will be $25 to register the day of the event (t-shirts and swag bags will be pending availability)

Fundraising prizes include:

• A year’s supply of dog food from Agway for the top adult fundraiser.
• Dinner at Arnold’s (ten $50 gift cards) for the top fundraising team.
• A day of food and fun for the top child fundraiser and four of their friends. The day includes lunch at Guapo’s Tortilla Shack, a sundae party at The Local Scoop, bowling at the Orleans Bowling Center and mini golf at Cape Escape Adventure Golf. The winning child fundraiser will also get a monogrammed beach chair from The Cape Cod Beach Chair Company.
• The first 350 people to register online will receive a free Paws for Celebration T-shirt at the event and an awesome swag bag.
• Everyone who raises $500 gets a free Animal Rescue League hat.

Corner of Mill Creek Rd. and Route 28, just west of intersection of Rte 28 and Rte 137. 8 PM; Family dance and beginners' session at 7:00 PM. Osterville in Bloom!

Take a "Seaside Journey"

at the Osterville Historical Museum

Ever dreamed of setting sail from Shanghai via a fast sailing clipper ship laden with prized silks and teas? Floral designs will interpret that journey through the Osterville Historical Museum during the Osterville Garden Club's standard flower show, "A Seaside Journey."

The standard flower show is run in accordance with the National Garden Club's requirements and is expected to bring in visitors from many regional garden clubs. The show will be open to the public on Wednesday, June 26th, from 1 to 5 p.m. and Thursday, June 27th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

An extensive horticulture exhibit will also be on display in the boat shops of the museum.

Admission to the museum is free during the flower show. The museum is home to the Osterville Farmers' Market every Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is plenty of free parking, and the museum is located at 155 West Bay Road, a short stroll from the Village.

EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Harwich to host reception and display with Cape Cod artist Ray Ouimet

HARWICH
—EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Harwich will host a show and reception with local artist, Ray Ouimet. A Massachusetts native, Ouimet has been doing pen and ink renderings of local scenes, including light houses, birds, ships and decorative maps, for nearly 60 years. Ouimet will have approximately 50 framed pieces on display and for sale. Light refreshments will be offered and the public is invited to attend this special showing from 2 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 27.

HARWICH—EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Harwich will host a breakfast and health discussion on Friday, June 28 at 8 a.m. Coinciding with the warm weather, EPOCH of Harwich’s Admissions Director Pam Van Dyk will discuss sign and symptoms of dehydration. The Mashpee Dog Park Committee, a 501(c)3 organization, welcomes you to participate in a Trivia Night to Benefit the Mashpee Dog Park. Cape Cod’s own DJ Cubey will test your smarts on Monday, July 15th from 7 to 9:30 pm at Dino’s Sports Bar on Route 151 in Mashpee. And don’t worry – you don’t need to be a dog expert to play!  This event has been rescheduled from the original date of Monday, June 15th, due to the Stanley Cup Finals.


Tickets are $20 per person, and can be purchased on www.mashpeedogpark.com. You can also pay at the door the night of the event.
Teams will be limited to 6 people, with prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. In between fun dog-themed questions, try your luck at winning some great raffle prizes and purchase some fun Mashpee Dog Park merchandise to show your support for this great organization.

Osterville Farmers' Market Celebrates 5th Season

with the Best of Sea and Land

The Osterville Farmers' Market opens for the season on June 14th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a variety of local specialties from sea and land.

Scallops, lobster, grey sole, and yellowtail flounder are just a few of the items you'll find at the Friday market.

Silverbrook Farm, Allen Farm, Oakdale Farm, Moonlight Rose, Stella's Heirloom Tomatoes, Miss Scarlett's Blue Ribbon Farm and more bring the best greens, vegetables, fruits, flowers, and eggs around.

For the sweet tooth, don't miss Sirenetta Chocolates complete with a mermaid insignia and Osterville's own Cake Out--makers of the modern cup cake in a Chinese food take-out container and best eaten with a spoon.

Soaps, breads, herbs, potions, butters, pastry, sea salt, jams, jellies, soy candles, baking mixes, vegan treats, cookies, muffins, dressing, maple syrup, wine, and more all in one location.

Plenty of free parking. Admission to the Museum is free during the Farmers' Market. Story hour for kids at 10 a.m. during July and August. Sailor's Valentine art activity for kids during the market.
