“Even the smallest changes in our daily routine can create incredible ripple effects that expand our vision of what is possible.”
― Charles F. Glassman
I’m not a runner…I never have been. However, when you have a chance to challenge yourself AND can use that opportunity to help children, it’s hard not to take advantage of it!
You may not always realize how certain events can alter your life while you’re in the midst of them. But as the years pass, the rippling effects of these incidents can have devastating consequences.
I was abused as a child. My ordeal led me to gain a great deal of weight which helped to create a low self-esteem. And that cycle continued into my adult years. Finally, I found the courage to break the chain. I found my strength through counseling and the loving support of my family and friends.
I’m lucky…but I know not all children grow to be as fortunate as I am. So when I decided to take on the 42nd Annual New Balance Falmouth Road Race, I decided I wanted to dedicate my journey to children and families who are victims of abuse. I wanted to find a way to help.
With that being said, I decided to run for Children’s Cove! It’s an amazing organization that is dedicated to helping children and families break the cycle of abuse. Below is a link to my “Go Fund Me” account. If you could spare any amount to this amazing cause…even if it’s only $1…I would be forever grateful.
I am so excited about training for my run…and I’d like to invite you to follow me on my trek to the finish line! I’ll be posting videos, pictures and blogs about my struggle to get “race ready”! You can follow me on Twitter: @Tracylynn232, on Facebook: as Tracy Lynn on Cool 102 on Instagram: @Tracylynn232 and of course right here on Cool102.com.
I look forward to seeing you at the finish line!
